Waunakee and Westport are located just north of Madison.  Waunakee is a peaceful community with a population of around 13,000.  Waunakee residents enjoy convenient access to Madison’s east and west sides, as well as I-90 and the Dane County Airport.

Waunakee is somewhat of a hidden gem.  There are many great walking trails and bicycle paths throughout the Village.  There are numerous parks that feature fantastic and unique park equipment, as well as public amenities for basketball, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and more!  The Waunakee Village Center and Senior Center offer a wide variety of programs and life enrichment classes for people of all ages.  This beautiful facility also features a fitness center and indoor track.

Another feature that makes Waunakee attractive is its excellent athletics program.  Waunakee High School football took state title in 1999,2002,2009,2010 and 2011!

Waunakee is just down the road from Westport, which is located on the northern shores of Lake Mendota.  Westport offers great options for lakeside dining, and is also the home of Governor Nelson State Park.  This beautiful park offers miles and miles of walking and cross-country ski trails through prairie terrain.  It also features a public beach, boat launch, park equipment and shelter, and picturesque views of the Madison skyline.
